The work your organization does in the community to help pets in need and preserve the human-animal bond are all ways that you are helping create a more compassionate community. When we help pets and people in our local neighborhoods it has ripple effects that improve quality of life throughout your town, county, and state. NKAWF is proud to offer $12,000.00 in grant funding for ways that your organization is ushering in a more humane society for all.

Eligibility Requirements:
* Spay and neuter assistance may be used for shelter/rescue pets, the public, and TNR initiatives.
Please do not include applications for capital improvements or professional development. Those applications will be accepted during the "Level Up Lifesaving" grant cycle later this year.
Completing the Application
Grant proposals will only be accepted through our online form. Paper versions will not be accepted for this grant cycle. Please review the Grant Proposal Structure outlined below. We recommend typing your proposal in a format that would allow you to copy and paste into the application form. You are also required to submit a letter of recommendation. We recommend waiting until you have the letter ready to upload and submit with your proposal.
GRANT PROPOSAL STRUCTURE
Please structure your proposal to provide the following information in the order indicated. In your own words, address the questions and details posed in the outline below. Additional information pertinent to your project should be included. Please be thorough, yet strive for brevity. Although tightly written proposals are preferred, take the space you need to make your case. Additional information may be requested by NortheastKansas Animal Welfare Foundation if deemed necessary or helpful in making a determination.
1. NARRATIVE
Organization’s history, mission, goals, current and foreseeable challenges. Outline current programs and highlight accomplishments.
2. PURPOSE OF GRANT
Describe what it is that you need funding for. Identify the needs to be addressed and who it benefits (pets, owners, staff, etc.). Describe the goals and objectives for the funding. Identify other organizations, partners, or funders participating in the project and their roles. Let us know if this is something new or a continuation of something you already have. Provide a detailed budget for the grant proposal and identify whether or not additional funding will be required.
NOTE: Please indicate whether or not receiving a lesser amount than what you applied for would be helpful (example: you apply for the $5,000 grant but are selected for a $2,500 grant instead).
3. EVALUATION
Describe how you will document progress. Evaluation and expenditure reports may be required for every grant awarded.
4. LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
You must attach a letter of recommendation from someone outside of your organization. Options for who to ask for your letter could be a vendor, veterinarian you work with, or a business partner that supports your organization. It cannot be a current employee, board member, or volunteer within your company.
